Castle Contemplation I paint it on the window; turn the corners up with thumb of smear, then across the lip of worry, color dear. With pink ink and cosmetic hum, I am the drum, like a castle in the dark, I try pressing play to swing the gate into the cadence of my heart. It starts now, the revelry of age, the bite of juice in summer sage weeps, weeps the bitter truth where all the pretty people of the past mistook the curve of time as touch to last, when only music down the corridor of peace, winked at me the truth when it saw my song was incomplete. I am the weather that awaits the coming storm, for doubt digs trenches from the hard looks at my past and I mistook the grasp and climb for wanting more, and wanting it to last. Now alone in contemplations corridor I find it was always I that held the key to castle door. So, I paint it on the window; turn the corners up with thumb of smear, then across the lip of worry, color dear. |

Of all of this "It starts now, the revelry of age, the bite of juice in summer sage weeps, weeps the bitter truth where all the pretty people of the past mistook the curve of time as touch to last, when only music down the corridor of peace, winked at me the truth when it saw my song was incomplete." Says most to me. Ed |

Beautiful poetry and I love how you tied it back together with the last stanza and the first. |

"Now alone in contemplations corridor I find it was always I that held the key to castle door. So, I paint it on the window; turn the corners up with thumb of smear, then across the lip of worry, color dear." Much truth in these words dear Martie.. Beautifully written. "Now alone in contemplations corridor I find it was always I that held the key to castle door" The entire write was great...I especially liked this verse. Brought about the thought of whom controls the situations in our lives, lest we forget that we hold the key. Really good Marti. TD |

Now alone in contemplations corridor I find it was always I that held the key to castle door. ~*~ so it begs the question is the gate up or down over the moat? |

I am so stuck in between the first and last verse..... You are ever careful to fit the pieces in so eloquently. Hugs for you, Martie girl~ |

"Now alone in contemplations corridor I find it was always I that held the key to castle door" yes, so true but going back to your other eloquent words, why not want more, when it feels so good, how can we not want more? |

Martie So, I paint it on the window; turn the corners up with thumb of smear, then across the lip of worry, color dear. This is my pick. |

It takes so little to turn the healthy time of Alone into the towering colossus of Lonely.... you've captured the in-between state so well here, that I can feel the slide taking place -- and the contemplation of it. Love this one, even though it makes me feel so -- well, so lonely.... ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |
