I am not the diplomat. I suffer from a lack of pause-- there is no "edit" in my brain-- a rebel with no need of cause. I flip the finger just to scratch in all the places indiscreet. I stick my toes in the hot tar that lines the center of my street. Daring buses "oh-hit-me..." bungee jumping into life-- calculations are for geeks-- Death has found himself a wife. Sacred is outside of me and suicide requires plan. Glamour in the tragedy? I bounce upon the rubber band. I do not have the fortitude or conviction to decide. I simply walk a razor's edge denying that my feet are sliced. Someone, tell me? What went wrong? Is this just bad chemistry? Why do I not feel at home? Tell me. What is wrong with me? I see the faces of the sane and wonder what is it they have that makes them distantly at peace as I search my brain for lack. "Sheep." I mutter in contempt. Sour grapes make sour wine. I pay the keeper of the cord saying "I'll jump one more time." |

I once jumped off my bridges, too. You know? The ones I burnt behind? But bungee cords, back then, were few and parachutes too hard to find. So, better you than me, I'll say, on razor's edge at edge of wits. Were I to leap, at point half way, I'd jump back up and call it quits! |

chuckling... thanks to all, and sheesh Ron, you always startle me when you pop up like that! and giggling at your poetic reply: "Were I to leap, at point half way, I'd jump back up and call it quits!"
