The Tall ships where in town this week and if they ever come your way be sure to go see them. What beauty. On the internet type in The Tall Ships and look for Toledo, Ohio and see the ships. Enjoy Love Bon-Bon The Tall Ships Ahoy Mates We’re a sailin’ in by way of The Great Lakes the Lake called Erie. We’ll be a comin’ into port in the year of 2003. We are a mighty fleet of twenty ships. We have not sailed these waters since the War of 1812. We are a proud fleet, sails billowing into the northern wind. The Caledonia Toledo’s Queen of the fleet. Her rigging the height of 145 feet, her length 245 feet, and her magnificent beauty carrying a crew of 20 hearty souls from the land called Canada. The Nina Her overall length 93.6 feet and her glorious sails spanning the horizon with sheets of white 1,919 sq. feet and a crew of 10. She is the sister ship of the SantaMaria and the Pinta of long ago the year 1492, which carried a crew of 18 to 24 members. The stately ship called The Red Witch Carrying proudly the Ohio Bicentennial Sails. Hats off to the beauty of these magnificent beauties of the sea. The INS Tarangini from India a crew of 50 welcome to our fair city. The Pride of Baltimore 11 owned by the State of Maryland, HMS Bounty, Highlander Sea, True North, Windy1 1, Fair Jeanne, Appledore 1V, Madeline, St. Paul, Neis Kah 1, Norfolk Rebel, Serenity, Pathfinder,Playfair, Larinda and The Mist of Avalon from the land of Canada with a crew of 10. As you stand by these ships of man, close your eyes, you can hear the cannons roar, the cry of man as the ocean pours over the worn decks of old. Listen closely and you will hear the laughter, look deeply and you will see the men of old raise their hands high in a salute of pride to the beauty of their ships and to the glory of The Tall Ships.
