Mud-caked hollow
gaunt eyes
peek
through the darkness within
to glimpse a fleeting
shadow
reflection
of what once was
which I knew
a long time ago
when the river ran

before you bled me dry

So much depth, in such few words. Although sad it was a well written write.

maybe this was you, but YOU, missy, seem way to strong to be bled dry, but had the tourniquet pulled too tight, here and there, but
you, like me, come up punching again.

Let the river flow down.

You know a river is the only thing, on this planet, in the physical world which grows larger and more grand the more it gives away.  The human soul has this quality covered for the rest of existence.

Let it flow...

littlewing...I thought this piece was quite good. I especially liked this part:

shadow
reflection
of what once was
which I knew
a long time ago
when the river ran

before you bled me dry

That is some intense, powerful writing.

Sue- This is really harsh. I loved it, however I definately don't want to meet the one it was written for.

It is a sad day when it dries up and our dreams die too.

it is so true
when a relationship is not BOTH giving & receiving
it will drain the giver
just one reason so many - feel taken for granted

May you always feel appreciated & Loved
& your river flow, refilled by the blessing you have bestowed upon others
