The village fool from the roof sauntered along a dusty road determined to find a life for himself and his humble abode; he'd get tired soon, consumed his lunch and then collapse memory of the direction he came from would soon relapse.. See, to remember his route he pointed his boots in either direction you and I know that his course would taken a familiar deflection; he would stick his poor soles in the boots again followed the way to the 'city' in silent complaint. He'd walk to the music of an imaginary flute... continued onward until he'd pass a village that looked familiar, he'd recognize roof-tops, shoeless kids all looked similar, Villagers bowed their heads, as if he were a family member, the men removed their hats, as if they'd remembered, that he had somehow been in this village before had gone out and reentered the same front door! all this is from an animated film adapted on a Yiddish story about a man who thinks he's travelled to another town..think it translates as the Village Idiot. [This message has been edited by ecrivan (07-17-2003 10:47 PM).] |
