Never close enough

I can look back now
and remember without
fear, or regret
that finding, falling
and loving you
has all been worth
the journey.

I can reflect on
the past and know
with certainty, that
I was alone, battered,
bruised, and confused
for a reason.

I had to hurt in order
to learn, stand to close
and feel the burn, so that
when the real thing came
along, I would hang on.

I can toss my hair over
my shoulder now, and know
that I've left nothing
worth missing, I've moved
on with a distinct picture
of the girl that I want to
be.

When I fall, and I often do
I look up, and there you are
ready to pull me back into
the world of the living.

When I need to fly, you let me
because you know that I fly
in no other direction than
home these days.

Twice, you've saved me from
myself, and battled the demons
that live deep inside, your patience
was the sword that
fought the side of me that was
hell-bent on self destruction.

Today, I realized that I did not
find love...it found me,

I stopped spinning
long enough to let it be.

Oh goodnes, Tima...are you reading my heart? This is exactly how I feel about my Honey-love. If you don't mind, I'm going to keep this. It is beautiful. I'm so glad that love found the both of us. You sound like you had a hard time, too, in your past. Isn't the love you have now wonderful?
