There is a light in my window
That I always keep lit for you.
There is a light in my heart
That keeps my love forever new.

My yellow light, beamed light,
A beacon...calling you home
I wait for your footsteps,
Listen for a ringing phone.

You are the light of my life
Not a shadow on some distant wall.
You remain a pure glow,
The shimmer of everything, my all.

The light flickering in my window
Is the beacon reaching out to you.
The light growing in my heart
Is a pledge for my love to be true.

I keep a light in my window
And a window for my light.
I keep a light in my heart
Your face shining in its night.
