Doubtful in Nazareth My neighbor thinks he’s a prophet. Ha! He thinks he can guide my life with power and wisdom. He puts his tunic on the same way I do. His feet get dirty in the dust just like mine. How can he be any greater, any wiser, than anyone else in this city? ~~~ Haven’t you heard all that He does, all that He says? If you’ll hear Him when He blesses the children; if you’ll see the miracles He makes, surely you’ll know that His claims are as gold and believing is not a mistake. Nazareth’s a temporal homeland, His feet sift through its sand, the realm of His eternal dwelling will be at His Father’s right hand. ©July 6, 2003 (completed July 13, 2003) From a sermon titled: “Spiritual Blessings” Equipped to Receive Sip of the essence of creation. Taste of the fruit of His love. Hear the song of His Spirit. Rest in His power above. Feast on the beauty of living, though tears be the diamonds we wear. Breathe in the scent of the blooming, as we walk in His guidance and care. Feel the warmth of the sunshine, sense the cool of the breeze. Capture the texture of seasons as they traverse the lands and the seas. Spiritual blessings are given; His chosen are wont to receive. In faith they reach for each Godsend, a harvest for what they believe. ©July 13, 2003 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, I'll seek the lighthouse evermore. definately two very different poems....the first one has some conflicting ideas that would seem to be contradictory, but the structure seemed to give the reader a path between them... very good stuff Mike |

I love it Virginia! Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. |
