How can I tell you that I love you
when it's hard for me to even say?

Shall I be like the olden poets and count the endless ways?

Then if so, let me begin slowly, and like you,
begin to unravel this startling mystery.

I love thee for thy very being and every breath
as you rest your weary head upon my breasts.

I love the lost look inside your sparkling blue
eyes.  That look that almost crushes my heart
until I think I shall die.

I do love thy beauty fair and thy dark and
curly wild hair.

I love the time we share, briefly, together
or apart.  Knowing you are closer to me than
my own beating heart.

I love thy honesty and thy kindred spirit,
which soars along right beside of me.

I love thy zanny ways, which brightens and fills
my gray and unhappy days.

I love thy shy smile, which is whismical and lasts
only for such a short while.

I love thy past, both broken and torn.  Where
youth and golden innocents were quickly from
you shorn.

I love thy lusty roving eyes and how you make the
women all around you sigh.

I love and will always understand your regrets
and emptiness and cherish the journey you made
alone from boy to this beautiful man.

So now, perhaps you will cope better with my
silence and no longer feel that to me you are
a mere passing game.

So hard, my love, to just bare my soul, for you
this I also know, tis sadly just the same.

You can start out with I like you...and let the love grow until you can't contain it any more...and if the actions are there surely the words will be no problem...James
