Photo From Webshots ~*~*~ The stars are shining brightly in the velvet skies whispering softly Walking hand in hand by the soft light of the moon on the beach at night With feet in the sand we lie down on the blanket while watching the stars While we watch the stars we dream and talk of our lives hearing the soft waves Planning our future lying under sparkling stars in black velvet skies Lying side by side on the white sand of the beach we spoke of our dreams We were there all night with sun rising o'er water the daybreak came forth Sun shining brightly with reflections of color on clear blue waters The suns rays shine forth sending down feelings of warmth on to the white sands Sea shells on the sand with the sound clearly inside whispering softly Softly in our ears we hear sweet sounds of our dreams and plans we have made ~*~*~ (These are eleven of the Japanese verses that I wrote all combined. I thought it was a little different. Maybe one day I will know exactly all the technical differences between a "haiku" and a "senryu". I love those little verses, don't you all? They are really fun to try to write.) This is a repost from Open 23 [This message has been edited by garysgirl (06-15-2003 10:48 AM).] |

Gemma, yeah, I did put them all together in Open 23. They are fun to write. Thanks for the compliments on them. I'm glad that you like them and are putting them into your library. That makes me feel good for someone to keep my poems. I really appreciate it. And, you'd better listen to your "mum", Little Lady, and be real careful. Do have a good time, though...I know you will!! See you when you get back, sweet Gemma. Hugs Ethel Mae |

Sue, I'm glad that you liked them. Thank you. And, these are some of both kinds of the verses, from what I understand. They are both three lines with syllable count..... 1st line....5 syllables 2nd line....7, and 3rd line....5 syllables The haiku is about nature, and the senryu is something about feelings, but I can't remember just what. That's why I just call them "Japanese Verses". LOL I need to study them more, because I really enjoy doing them...just not as much as the rictameters. LOL I'm glad that you liked them. Thank you. Hugs Ethel |

exhale, thank you very much. I'm really glad that you liked them. And, you're welcome about the reply. I hope you're enjoying yourself here. This is really a nice place, isn't it? :heartZ: . Michelle, that sounds like a really fun day! I love the beach. And, aren't the sea shells pretty? All special in their own unique way....just like poets and poetry are. Thanks for replying to my little verses. . Noah, I'm so glad that you liked them. Yeah, I really had fun writing all these. I'll have to write more soon. I've kind of got hooked on the rictameters, it seems, though. LOL . . Hugs to each and every one of you Ethel |

Yes, different, and very good to read.... ....but AAUGH!...that pastel typeface that I have to use "Select" on before I can read it! Have mercy on these ancient eyeballs! ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |
