Learning to Get Over You

I'm trying to learn to get over you
Trying to learn to accept the pain
Learn the lesson that comes with this
Trying to learn that a reason remains
To go on after getting over you

I'm trying to disengage from you
Cutting the ties that bind us two
Trying to excise you from inside of me
It's going to be very hard to do
I can't tell where you end and I begin
But I'm trying to get over you

I'm trying to build my life again
To learn how to live it unplanned
Sounds such a simple thing to do
Learn how to plan a life
Somewhere without you
No destination to get to
I'm trying to get over you

Please whatever else you might do
Let me learn to get over you.

this is painful...and I have felt this...still do. It's difficult to learn.

I know this...you know what I think it takes? Time. Give yourself some time, my friend. I can say this on an intellectual level; however, I know from experience it is not the easiest thing one can do.

I love this honest piece of writing because I can certainly relate.
