Our journey now has progressed three days since the pass with each bringing us to warmer winds and the return of a smile to your eyes. We startled a stag this morning and while the men in dream of fresh meat wanted to chase, you forbade them then promised all a gift when we arrived at the sea. I saw them change from dreams of venison to dreams of being graced by your hand and laughed to myself that all men are as stricken by your presence as am I. Tonight, we will reach the plains and as I promised we will for a few days rest while I knead your tired shoulders and anoint you in oil. There are melons in wait for us along with fresh grapes and bread from the locals that we might feast and the men have been told they are to use the time we are there in repair and rest. We will not be disturbed and can again be free to wash at rivers edge and laze in the sun as our clothes dry or share the softness of that silk rug as I read to you the words of Rumi and listen to you sigh. When the moon has donned her glow and the stars have turned heavens upside down bowl into a theater of dancing light I will rub your calves and feet that they will remain soft in this harshness and smell again the cinnamon on your skin. If you love me my heart we will find the plain too small to hold the joy of just being us again [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (06-13-2003 03:23 PM).] |
