Remembered With Honor A single shot of leaden ball, a sound heard cross a land A single wish to free them all, as colonists did stand. The taxes bled the pockets dry, the levy on their tea. The townships rumbled as they cried, our death or liberty. A revolution with the crown, against the English Queen. Through fields and farms and waking town, a truly dreadful scene. The colonists were fuming mad, their liberties stolen. As but one wish was all they had, strong of will, unbroken. And once upon this history, the heart of men were done While freedom in it's infancy, the war of wars was won The bloodshed was unbearable, with little to attend Both sons and fathers side by side, in courage to the end Reminders carried on through time, of what that fight was for Reflections of courageous hearts that never wanted war But some fights are a founding theme, necessity in every seem And on this day we recollect the brave that first saw freedom's dream |
