I thought I was lonely before we met Rattling around in that big house Now that the kids are all grown I thought I was adding a new dimension A bright light into a dull day Nevermore to be alone I got a rude awakening You can be more alone and lonely If companied by a love gone bad Pepper |

Meglio soli che male accompagnati .... better alone than in unloving company ... yes this is so true. Heartfelt and efficiently said! Love, Margherita |

I hope this isn't how your life is right now. I do so well know this feeling. Hugs Sandra |

peppermint35 - I never did figure out how one can feel so alone living with someone, but now I know, it's just what you wrote... BC |

Your poetic hammer hit the nail squarely on the head! So sad, and so often true... Warm hugs, Earth Angel |

"A bright light into a dull day" Remove the lightbulb ... you are better off using candles and in the softness of that light find strength to go onward. |

Simply thanks to all of your comments; I am writing sparingly right now as most of my time at present seems to be taken up on looking around for the pieces of a shattered heart and wondering if it will ever mend.. now there's a line for another poem.. lol Seriously, thanks to you all..I am glad you enjoyed. bukowski once wrote that love begins when two strangers meet... I'm not sure what it's called when you discover somebody you thought you loved is a stranger -- but lonely is a pretty good descriptor -- but a pretty bad feeling -- too often the inspiration for good poetry |
