![]() Greenery in Nan's yard after the rain In such soft whisperlings this stilling night Manifesting itself almost stillborn On this summer evening zephyr's caress. Impetuously, a cappella rises overhead. Soon it harmonizes in windy wisps Setting lofty trees to sway in a ballet That would caress even the coldest soul. In that split second, I felt it. The change. Floating downward in a mist at first, Crystal rivulets circled and quenched A very sequestered and parched heart. My tongue tasted its nectar. My skin absorbed the essence it so needed To replenish a craving so long overdue. And as I, Branches of the shadowed trees Waved their arms dancing in resplendence. High overhead, clouds like solemn ships Sailing their course over the vast expanse of sky Eclipsed the soon to be sleeping moon. All the while it glides and rides the wind Like a spinnaker torn to waft unsteadily In a pending dark and evil storm. But then once more so softly it lands, Tenderly blankets, and rejuvenates. As stars glimmer and reflect Off the slicker below them A shimmering puddle reveals Soon all will be once more in passive rest. Here I sit, watching the harbour, Among swaying blades of grass, Dancing moss, and lacy ferns. I inhale the essence of flora, fauna, And a human soul that are so alike. All around me blended in hues of invisibility Is evidence of this valuable gift. This one time I became part of it all, Witnessing a wonder of the our world, A cappella in the rain. ~ * ~ It rained refreshment today * © Mysteria 06/2003 |

I am librarying this lovely in it's own new shelf - Mysteria's shelf. With a spotlight. Lady...with the exception of the poems you have written for Willow....this is one of the finest, softest, most exquisite poems I have yet to read in Passions. Sometimes it takes a Village to make a community of poets...sometimes, it takes a Visionary to bring it together. Sometimes, I think Ron never had a hint at what he would do for over 7,000 family members.... did you? Now, before I make a mistake, I'm going to library this, add the spotlight...and thank God I have come to know people like you, and Nan, and Ron. Hugs.... |

Well you have truly made me blush. I wrote this during a downpour today in the Cape. I welcomed it while others ran for cover. Nan walked with me in it, and Nan, the rain and I "bonded" so to speak. I finally got a welcome taste of home that will see me through another two weeks of this unfamiliar heat that seems to lack a breeze. With every single drop of rain that someone curses I always smile realizing it saved at least one plant or an animal, and today it saved me ![]() Karilea, I don't think Ron fathomed what this place would ever become, however I do think he should be extremely proud of what he has given to the world as his contribution to stimulate minds by the writing of poetry. I know there are over 7,000 grateful people that is for sure, and I am just one. [This message has been edited by Mysteria (07-03-2003 10:27 PM).] |

Sharon, this is the most beautiful poem I have ever seen about the rain, I do believe. It was a beautiful, graceful, and peaceful poem. This ending just set the whole poem off.... I loved all of it, and am going to keep it, too. Hugs to you two ![]() ![]() Ethel Pssstttt...I'm missing you, too ![]() |

I find it amazing how different 80 degrees is in the East compared to the West, simply amazing. It is all in the breeze and the rainfall, I think but then again I am no scientist ![]() |

Sharon ... my dear special friend. This is so exquisite and calming that it brought me to tears. I have not been feeling well since you and Nan were here and these beautiful words lifted my spirits and brought me such joy. I'm sorry you are melting in the New England sun and humidity. It has been so dreadfully hot in Boston today and tomorrow promises to be worse. I suggest you grab a fan and sit in front of the TV tonight and watch the Boston Pops and fireworks. Hugs and loves to you and Nan, Marti |

You know ... I seem to sense that this might have inspired you all to write something about nature? If it did, then I am pleased I did more than I set out to do, and thank you once again for your kindness to me and for also enjoying this one. I kind of liked this one myself and I never say that ![]() Marti, we will call - until then - take care and I watched the 4th of July on a beach with Nan and her kids it was great!
