http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/aubabe_19/vwp?.dir=/Callum&.dnm=Callum21.jpg&.src=ph&.view=t Scared I sat thinking what would be Pain increasing Not knowing what would come next Nurses, doctors fast moving around Checking this, checking that Every few minutes inflood of pain Breathing to overcome Thinking me this can not be Thirty one weeks is not enough time It's not meant to happen yet Waitng for scans to be preformed Determining your fate Then pow another contraction hit Closer now less rest in between Doctor telling me it's time Now it has to be The moment of your birth Brought forward nine weeks Frightened I was wheeled into theater Lost time, I awake drowsed Told that you were fine I smiled Hours later I saw you Your cute little face so tiny Your small hands and feet Weighing only four pounds Instantly I fell in love My little boy before my eyes So helpless and innocent Welcomed into this world in a hurry Now each day without you home Feels like forever Your little self growing each day Not long it will be untill home You are with me "Dont cry because its over, smile because it happened. Wow Julie...what a birth! My cousin Scotty was born when my aunt was only about 26 weeks into the pregnancy and he weighed 1 lb 13 oz. when he was born. He is now a year and a half old and only 5 inches shorter than his 2 1/2 year old sister. You baby boy will be just fine. Thank you for sharing your joy with us. I met my youngest children in dreams before they were born, the oldest was born before I was centered enough to understand. Now they are old enough for me to know that it really was each of them, in physical appearance, in personality and in spirit. Each child is a universe unfolding. Thanks again. |

Congrats!  I know how scary that is...mine was 3 pounds 13 ounces...she wore Cabbage Patch doll clothes...I remember like it was yesterday. Thanks for sharing the picture too. He's a cute little man. |

Congratulations, Julie. You made me think of my son's birth over 20 years ago. I delivered him myself...long story, but the doctor sent me home, and a few hours later this is where I delivered. I was 20 years old and scared to death. Now he is studying for the ministry! I will be praying for you both. No better feeling in the world...holding your child in your arms... Great Job! Ithink this is an excelent way for parents to express their love for their children. I encourage you to keep a copy of this poem for your son and when he gets old enough, give it to him. My Dad wrote one for me when I was born and he gave it to me a while back, it means more than you can ever imagine. |
