My love I grow weary of this village And even the merchant Who sells fruit from his stand Has come to hate seeing me Walk by with a scowl. I think we should plan To make our way to Lebanon Where we can walk the cedar hills And trade a bit of our gold for Those things which the ships Might bring in and we could transport. I know I am not alone In this restless creep. I saw you last evening Pacing the garden with your eyes Turned to the north And I hear you ask of news Any news From places other than this Then see how you gaze off As you might hear The words to take you away. Bring your wine and slippers We shall go to our bed and spread maps On top the flowered silk Sitting cross legged To make lists of that we shall need I saw Ramil today And he is the best of the camel drivers. I believe we can hire him this season So leaving before the weeks end. Hurry Love! Let us Begin! |
