Summer oils ski ivory slopes
To turn in golden hue one hopes
The warm of swelter beads the skin
And pleasant pools to weather in

The days are long in beating sun
And coming home when day is done
The sudden thoughts that simmer spry
Of cool white suds and sweetened sigh

A brief diversion making cents
The minds excursion, smile relents
Packaged in a full ice chest
Wanton notions will not rest

In the shadow of the door
Ringing bells surprise in store
And opened wide not spied at all
Yet in the turn a blast enthrall

A jump and run to chase away
Whatever care brought on this day
Between the eyes, behind the knee
In vain attempts to block the spree

The hands held high, a ploy to try
Pinned in the prone and eye to eye
A beard of white such fond delight
Cool while hot if done just right

Dessert for two in plenty said
Lightest frosting foot to head
The silly things that blow the mind
And in return time made in kind
