Maze of The Rose

I was looking at a rose with it's center going around and around. This is how this one came about

In the center of my world I am sheltered
from the rain
and
filled with the undeniable warmth of love.
I wonder should I travel to the outer edge
and
discover what is beyond my quiet world?
As I move from my cocoon of warmth
Darkness and shadows and sounds of the night
vibrate within my sensitive ears.
While the scent of life fills my nostrils
with
fear and questioning excitement.
As I move my path is blocked
I fall into deep canyons
Oh how I wish I could find my center
of
warmth once again.
I will not give into fear
I will continue my quest to the outer edge.
An open path leading me to another
path,
that leads me to soft silky beds
of
blazing velvet.
The outer edge
The vast world beyond
Now I can fly and discover
the vast beauty of the universe.
Just for a moment I feel the pull
of
my center of the world.
But I am strong.
Now I can fly.
