The Death of a Soldier A bird lets out his finl cry As his descent is set One last chance for help to call To find someone to stop his fall A proud hawk's wings set down Falling without hope to a rocky ground A soldier unblinking into Death's stare A soldier ever he's been In a flash, his life passes by He remembers a life of pain Memories of a bloody life lived Of all the lives with a blade forgiven and finally his own... Only moments left Before his life's forfeit to death The irony is that in his donward drive His last living thoughts, "In this I'm alive" Then he reaches the ground and is ended... Such is the death of a soldier. The only difference between the creative and the conformists is that the creative will not be conquered and the conformists already are. |

Young men die in wars started by men who have never fought in one.Such is the cruel irony of life. paladin |
