Forever She sat on the worn down pier Staring at the reddish-orange sea And a once fiery sun; Her feet are tickled by water kisses As they hang over the edge of her eternity; Her mind though, searches beyond this moment Or perhaps before this day, For in her eyes we feel pain And through her shattered soul We see scattered pieces of her heart That hovering sea gulls Pluck in mid-air, digesting And then flailing, Dropping into the depths of the sea. He sat on the edge of the sunset As the spotlight of the sun Shined upon the sadness on the shoreline; Perhaps she dreamed of him But hope is eternities curse, So for now he sits and waits… They say the tears of the sun are invisible, Can the same be said for the dreamer? If I knew where fate resided, I would humbly offer my heartless soul If he would let me love until I awake… Sometimes in the wake of my dreams, I glimpse that possibility--- Visions of a man and woman Laughing, embracing, loving, joyfully crying, Enjoying the reddish-orange glare of the sunset, Sitting upon the pier of forever. A beautiful dream you dream. Your heart lacks nothing, you could not have written this otherwise! Love, Margherita ![]() |
