Shadows Of Confusion

Hazy thoughts wandering
within the fog of uncertainty,
crystal clarity shattered
into endless grey shades,
puzzling pieces of lights
with no clear definitions,
clouded mind dazed on
the fuzzy edge of reality,
eyes focusing on illusions
hurt by depressed emotions,
abstract reflections
of distorted truths,
nothing much to dream for
except a rainbow of hope,
clearing the storm of confusion.

Shadows how you pain thee,
creating monsters of fabrications
stalking among the sanity of fears
terror from the unknown element,
haunting ghostly manifestations,
chilling molds of self abuse,
devouring darkness twisting so tight,
space closes within total anguish,
lost cause of living around people,
alone and destitute friendships,
lightning strikes to the brain
forcing self re-evaluations
in drug induced changes,
mind altering Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft ...
excruciating pain surviving.

Shadows of confusion,
power of a poet’s imagery,
swallowed up quicksand,
drowning pity of compassion,
thorns of scarred memories,
forcing a reality check,
life will never be perfect,
survival comes, inner faith
clearing over the horizon,
miracle of clear vision.

Thought: A poet must write from the highs and lows of humanities treasures and taxes.

Thought: In conforming, life’s colors fade into the greys of social acceptance, restricted views shadowing us as to what is acceptable.
