Life To me life is a river Which each one of us must cross It's rushing icy waters A mass of heave and toss. From sleepy little eddys To torrents full of pace Like the problems we encounter And do our best to face. Now the only things that help us Reach the other side Are the stepping stones and islets Scattered far and wide. Some we know are solid Sturdy strong and high, Their tops well out of danger Safe and sure and dry. But others aren't so helpful They're slimy wet and green, Waiting to upend us Into dangers yet unseen. So we jump from one to other And at times we're sure to slip For all of us have troubles And we're bound to take a dip. But if we're really lucky And we reach that far off shore Where all our pains and worries Will trouble us no more, Then look back across the river When the sun of life has set And if we've been really lucky Then we didn't get too wet. |

I'm smiling, warm heart and tender thoughts...this poem was so true, with harmony and appreciation for life...understanding the stumbling blocks places in our way can usually be the great foundation of our next day... |
