The Crimson Battlefield Where passions crimson flames ignite; Swept in maelstrom of the heart, There rides a solitary Knight -- Do not sway your course, nor tire Oh, brave warrior -- but ride, Ride the tempest of the fire! For within the eye of raging gale; There upon a tranquil glade, Love awaits to set its sail -- And to let its casting spell invade; The crimson battlefield unveil -- For One his love will never fade. And the Knight rests his weary head To dream of Her sunlit smile -- In lap of solitude instead. For She knows not the fiery trial... Knows not the Knight whose heart she's bled -- Her heart is innocent of her beguile. CG |

Nicely done CG, and of course you know that I would certainly pay attention to this piece of lore... And from the rampart, stone and high a call, a plea, a battle cry. For of this maid one knight has cast one die of bone, this love to last.. |

Thank you, Magnus, appreciate your kind words - glad you liked it. And thank you for your verse - enjoyed that As for the Lady? And in her chamber, above field, She, too, dreams of knightly shield; To hold her, comfort, feel her sigh -- But Fate will cast the final die. CG |
