~*~ The hoity-toity, think they're better than you. The snobs of all snobs, with naught better to do. They psst! And they tsk! And talk behind back. They giggle and snicker, at what others may lack. *** The smuggish self-righteous, preach theirs' is The Way. They spew out the put-downs, and then they go pray. How Godly is that? I'd sure like to know. Think I'll keep to myself, so off I now go! ~*~ |

hmmmm..... one would think that by leaving, the playng field then becomes that of the smug... nicely written Linda... we meet those people everyday it seems and sometimes it is harder to deal with them than others... |

Midnitesun ~ I have been fortunate in that anything that I may have personally experienced, has been very minor. I have, however, witnessed such things and they do make me very upset with the "perpetrators"! I'm a great defender of the underdog, so to speak!  Thanks for the thoughtful reply! LocalRebel ~ How apt that someone with your name would reply to my poem! LOL I have always just taken any flack that has come my way in life, but over the years I have learned to stand up for myself and the funny thing is, there is now less of a need for it! Apparently I radiate self-confidence and people seem to respect me more--probably because I have more respect for myself! See! Getting older isn't such a bad thing--if you are also getting wiser! The smuggish self-righteous, preach theirs' is The Way. They spew out the put-downs, and then they go pray. How Godly is that? You know, Linda, I try to tolerate people, without saying anything to them....but when they start using their self-righteous religion to throw their little slurs and innuendos, it's very hard for me to keep my mouth shut. I try very hard not to say anything, though, because I don't like to lower myself to their level. OOps...I didn't mean to say all that, but I think I will leave it for now.  (big hugggssssssss) Oh Linda, Oh Linda, it was things like this in elementary school that nearly had driven me to my loss seven years ago, I felt like some incubus that only aroused syspicion everywhere I went and I just wanted to go until God pushed me away! (sad sigh) I can't stand gossip and lies and it is what can cause so much mischief and problems, God Bless You, we all love you so much!
