The Drone Figures move, nameless faces. Just short of the clouds; the gunner... Freedom and death at his finger tips. The drone of the B-17, the drone of a man of country, fighting for freedom; saving grace of his soul...he prays. Adrenaline strong, cold as the iron he pulls... In an instant, the movement stops while man and country fly by free. The Drone Lives On and he prays some more... Praying for a meaning to this end; he wipes his forehead and he cries. He cries for faces he'll never know on this side of a gunner, the living; down there the destruction of the gun; nothing can compare with his pain within. He screams: "Oh God!" and he prays some more... He prays to the Kingdom for answers. The drone answers back... This is war. Lisa Anne Brow Copyright ©2001 |

Lisa, this poem certainly deserves to be read. It is well written, it shows imagination, it is interesting and leaves an impression, a good one. Thank you! |
