The lizard raced across the desert floor
running for cover
from the talons that flew overhead
as
the woman wrapped in tattered scarf
raced across deserted wasteland,
her once thriving village home,
running for cover from
the wingspread of eagles
that once promised
freedom from tyranny.

Neither made it to safety.

And somewhere off in the distance
a mother cries,
in vain,
praying for refreshing rain
and not another reign
of terror,
and wondering
if Allah is listening,
or if there really is
a plan for humans
that includes
Peace on Earth,
goodwill for mankind.

Hope someone can tell her...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Your social conscience and compassion are showing!--and that is a good thing, Dear Kacy!

You serve meat with your poetic potatoes!

Lovin' hugs,

Keep us on the edge, Kacy...
make us take our heads
out of the clouds
now and then...

it's good for us
to stop, and hurt,
and be thankful...of so much.

What Kari said..
It's good to make us stop and think.

I am thanking each of you, for reading and replying. I know this mesage hurts, but my muse insisted I write this, even if the keyboard gets wet in the process.

Emotions run deep here ~ Hopefully she would find peace, and know there is always light at the end of the tunnel!
