Smoke twisted up from The Cig you had lit and left to burn While your lips expounded on the latest harm Done to the idea of sanity and rational thought By someone I didn’t know And reminded me of how When lit you too would consume all the air Until only ashes remained. Freud was a fool In love with his own anatomy you once told me So he wrote all his drivel to rationalize And put in place the women of the day Just another man driven to keep the fair sex In their place…. I remembered that conversation As you were telling me about The things someone had said to you And how they were meant. Funny to me then… To draw a parallel in your estimation of Freud. Jung might say your animus was speaking But you would question that as again someone labeling In stereotypical fashion to cubbyhole what they do not understand. Your logic at times is impeccable. Your Heart on the other hand seems obfuscated. “Yeah, people are a disappointment.” I offer, and light my own curl of smoke. I wonder if you ever want a hand to touch you Someone to be tender in a Monet of pain Or to comfort when the Picasso of stress Tears at the canvas of your psyche…. I’ve never seen that side of you… But imagine you’d bay in primal screams If you ever let someone reach the edges of your heart. “Another round, barkeep.” I’m too far from the couch to analyze anymore And I don't appear to be anywhere close to touching you. |

The dendrites are wriggling as I read. Some people fear the movement, fear the travel of nature's electricity, fear the consequences of being charged up emotionally. I like to listen to my own inner spirit, and give only the barest credence to Jung, Freud, or anyone else who isn't trapped inside my body and soul. Maybe that's why I am nuts? LOL [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (06-23-2003 12:39 PM).] |

Hi Ron...lots of thinking in this...made my head spin. I was married to a shrink for many years...he analized me to death, and therefore was able to keep a professional distance from his own emotions. Was a hard way to live for both of us. Enjoyed the reality of this scene...and the ending stanza..perfect! |

Brad.. thank you sir... appreciated. Midnight... listening to the inner self is a good way to know what is right for you... in this case the inner self was listened to, but spoke a language of the surface.. the depths are there, but they seem to be well hidden indeed. EA..(chuckling) Freud was indeed a character and one I will not defend... Jung.. while appealing in some ways and makes sense on certain levels, I'm not sure I believe either... about her however... yeah.. I think he would have been correct in that statement. Ceinwyn... In love huh? ( chuckling) dear one... you flatter me.. thank you... but I think the words are what you love, not the old coot who writes them... ![]() JM... yeah a day off... and need to burn some more before i lose them. Fishing??? been so long I have forgetten what that was like..LOL.. had a list of chore to finish and the weather wasn't bad so made some prgoress on them and now back in the office, wishing I could have slept in this morning... Many thanks to you all... for the nice words and taking time to leave them. It is greatly appreciated.. Martie..lol.. yeah I am sure that made a lot of difficult and interesting times for you. I just have the curse for having read and studied too much years ago...so now I analyze things and people too much it would seem. Glad you enjoyed.. Ron, Is it any wonder I feel such embarrassment when you read my solo efforts? Not at all your fault, my good man. To know my limitations and accept the truth...not such a bad thing. And I indeed have time to grow...to learn, while all the while knowing I will never reach your level. Only a great mind such as yours could write as this. Now carry on, good Captain. Bring to me your wisdom and insight for it will settle in and of it I will rise. Patricia |

LR.. lol.. thanks for the words bud...and as for dating her..I'm sorry... could cause emotional trauma that required professional help to overcome... might want to get the oil checked and make sure she didn't drain a quart or two... Cein... ![]() Patricia... hey now..no need to be talking that way... I just write..and nothing I write is so good or so much better than what anyone else does.. you continue to write and write for the reasons inside..and quit trying to compare yourself to anyone else.. lol.. we are all unique.. now..thank you for the nice words.. Sunshine... reality... you mean it stopped while I was away? [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (06-23-2003 01:45 PM).] |

Sort of...for me. Got embroiled in my novel Sunday and my characters took me far and away and left behind about 4,000 words. yep...this wrenched me back. But my two ladies made me promise to get back to them, even exacting a second promise that this ah, project, would get finished this summer. I think I'm going to have to follow the sun... ![]() |

Came back to look for this one. You KNEW this one would strike a chord... A very WISE man told me, not too long ago, that in regards to Jung: "Leave that stuff alone, Jung will drive ya nuts." I still say Freud will make ya walk. But I guess it's the destination, eh? ![]() ![]() Love this, but you knew that I would... |

it looks like everyone has a similar reaction to this one, Capt we can't seem to get enough of it and don't need anyone to analyze the 'why' |
