I'm tired of kneeling
in unanswered prayer
echoes in the emptiness
of a darkened room
besides my knees are shot
it's why I'm on painkillers
which incidentely get me
much closer to a god
than prayers ever have

Yes, after a spectacular car accident, and many broken ribs and thrown back.I agree.Percoset 10 has answered a few prayers.

After a while, pain gets to be like an old friend. Together we have gotten a little too close to yaweh from time to time.

aenimal...you can fall on your knees in your heart...I think you already do that.
oddly, painkillers can get you closer to a god, but it depends on who you're praying to and how much of yourself you're willing to sacrifice. This is all so difficult.

hehe I know what you mean. Last week I was rushed to the hosp. with a killer migraine and they gave me three shots of painkiller. all I remember of the next 10 hours was that I was happy... real happy!
They have to max the adult doses to even touch the pain ..so it makes it pretty funny. I feel guilty being so happy lol

Praying on knees? There's your mistake....Pray on the balls of your feet, with gloves on -- work or boxing, doesn't matter which....

I try to stay off my knees. Rx's usually put me back down there, begging for something else to ease the pain. Oddly enough, passionate poetry seems to have incredible healing properties.
