Hey guys...been reading through A LOT of the stuff on here...got me thinkin bout some things..and you all seem like VERY intellegnt people so wanted to know your views on these two 'statements'...Im planning on writing on one of them for an class project for sociology. Public opinion plays a big part in this so everyones ideas and thoughts are very welcome! ok here are the two questions, or topics if you like :- 1. Race and ethnicity are social constructs, but are they real in thier sociological effects? Discuss using exmaples. 2. To what extent is the category of gender socially constructed or biologically determined? Look forward to reading your views! Thanks for your time, Stephanie |
