Poor Paul Poor Paul, his eyes let you feel that he’s in no way been kissed by anyone other than his mother and in the look of his hands one can notice the nearest and dearest thing he has held are the cigarettes that burn in the night just around the corner of the farmhouse a beacon to the solitude of dark. Poor Paul only leaves home to look at the fields and think of the nighttime when his eyes are busy and his hands will be numb fumbling the last drop of the day wishing that such satisfaction could be had in something more substantial. Poor Paul only really leaves home when he closes his eyes. Robert PS: forgive me for being away so long....though I needed it. The solitude. |

i liked this. Simple, yet has a great meaning to it. I think every guy can relate to Paul at one point or the other. |

OhRobertB~ You're back in wonderful penning fashion ! Believe me, you've been missed by this lady~ Seems the 'solitude' gave you time to spend with a talented muse~ Welcome home~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

I liked this although simply written it made me think about all sorts of things. I think poor paul is someone we all know or have known in our lives at one time or another. Julie |

Thank you all for reading and replying. Marge, I appreciate the e-mails all along. I never forgot you!! Paul is a true-life charactor.... my neighbor up the road. I have only spoken to him less than a dozen times in 13 years....but I know this poem is right on. Robert |
