Shadow or Substance?

A shadow, but not
pulls part of me out the door

on patio floor to dancing again
where I have been
ghost wrapped
to find what substance
is exactly

Time me out
I tell the sharp sun
riding behind the fingers of the leaves
before I see my silhouette
I want the weave
and within its net a place
to contemplate     what faith or face?

To wrap it up into a matter of flesh
is not why wind disturbs the air
and wrestles with this chair of thoughts
the hunger leaks, not caught
and stains the fragile clock
until just like air   I'm there

Don't ask me where they go at night
for I feel their airy pity without sight

Reading, re-reading the poetess I admire most~

Your thoughts are like brush-strokes that reach across the chasm of miles and splash paint upon my palette of morn~

I find it difficult to tell the difference myself. I've ALWAYS found substances in the shadows.

you are just SO good...like you, I too have always found some comfort in the shadowy edges. I've just got to quit INDUCING them.

sighs and hugs.

love ya lady.

I love your spirit poems, Martie.... here's hoping you do many more. The way you combine stunning real world imagery with the subsonic vibrations of the spirit world....you raise the bar with every poem you write.

"Don't ask me where they go at night
for I feel their airy pity without sight"

....you know where they go....and shadows can have substance, you know.

Even when all is said and done, and we’re gone. Our souls leave an imprint behind, on the hearts of all those, we’ve been so fortunate enough, to have touched.

Like the shadow from a cloud, that has suddenly dissipated into thin air. It still remains, in our memory. Even though it is gone. As long as we still care to remember it. And as long as we still can, cast our own shadows...

You are a real treat Martie!

Martie
You sure went deep into the parallel with nature and humanity....I loved it!
I love how you use nature so metaphorically to illustrate your point in most of your work.
