My heart went right to my throat Then suddenly plunged to my stomach The moment you pushed past me And then you walked away I went into a panic I didn't know what to do I could only think no, I cannot lose you I dropped to the ground And began to despair I did the only thing I knew I could And started in earnest with prayer "Lord, I cannot lose him I cannot bear another loss." I thought you'd gone out the door Until I heard your cough "Father, please don't take him Don't let this friendship break." Then I heard your footsteps And saw your shadow cast upon my face "Thank You, Jesus, Thank You Please guide and help us through this Let it stengthen what we share. Please don't let this friendship break." We just sat for a moment I heard nothing but silence Then I heard your voice Our friendship would not break [This message has been edited by Shlee (04-30-2003 06:23 PM).] |
