Poets Behaving Badly

Ink spots make dots
small and round,
pens resting on points

made

in the aftermath
(or glow)
of scribbling,
quipping advice
quick as whiplash tongues
with fine nib ends,
indelible, fountain-fast blue
resplendent with pearl-covered barrels
and gold-filigreed overlays
to demonstrate
to the child’s fumbling hand
see now,
graphite will never do!

(smiling)... indeed a quick pace formed in this to a sense of some judgement and perhaps tinged with arrogance... graphite indeed will not do...
