Pandemic Rambling Sticky molecules cling to air particles lining lungs like wallpaper. Diffusing and transmuting – stretching for lands of poverty to prove real capabilities, swaggering from hospital beds to beds in the streets. Back at home, we’re rethinking cruises and business travel - that Air Canada commuter jet coming in to Chicago filled with customers and ball players, and in a month from now or so, the seven-percent death rate will continue to climb. As the World Bank announces crumbling economies, seeds skip country-to-country, stones on a clear lake. Someday kids will read about it in school comparing numbers to the Influenza of 1918 or the Bubonic Plague. They’ll read how we once worried about germ warfare, while it turned out birds, rats and monkeys were the bigger threat. © 2003 Core [This message has been edited by Corinne (04-28-2003 12:05 AM).] |

Seems that we've been paying too much attention to wrong things, eh? Nice. |
