Where do dreams go? |

“Where do dreams go?” asked the young of the old and I replied, “Here, and there, everywhere, in my eyes, my hands, spine, heart and soul but let me explain in a more detailed way. In my eyes where tears once built up inside now shallow eyelids can ’t store any more and they fall at a thought, a memory, a wish, pushed into air by dreams living there … and he cried for me at what I couldn’t see. In my hands, my palm, once smooth, gentle, sure, now folded and dry, cracked, wrinkled, skin still holds tenderly a dream believed real waiting for spring through long winter years … and he saw for himself my hands how they’ve aged. At the base of my spine coiled ready to jump dreams lie awaiting love’s pure energy. The burden, the weight, how painful the load that slows my advance into spiritual realms … and he prayed for me the strength to walk tall. In my heart they remain as first they were made, from love, from knowing a truth from a lie, and there have erected steel girders, barbed wire, to protect themselves from premature death … and helpless he stood, him and I side by side. In my soul forever courageous and brave they await a reality of which I’ve been told but, “Ma”, he said, “You live here today” and I said, “My son, it’s your turn to dream” … and I wished I was young like my loving son. Thank you, Startime55! I guess it would be wonderful if we could all realise all our dreams - even the impossible ones, but then do we really grow out of perfection? Perhaps not. Thank you too Seymour for reading and commenting. My advice - get on out there and make dreams come true before it's too late. ![]() |

You wrote this beautifully. But can we not still dream when we are older? Please? Sandra |

Hi, Sandra, Indeed we dream when older but time is shorter, the body weaker, and the chances of realising those beautiful dreams that much slimmer. The answer - find a more suitable dream albeit second best but that's the hard part. Thanks for the read. |

Thanks for the read, Bridgette. I guess dreams are like life - they do disappear but others take their place if we work hard enough at it and if we truly wish it. |
