Paper clips litter my desktop, reminding me how our love was held together with little more than the artificial bonds, the parchment that stamped us into tidy layers of I do, when neither of us was ever willing to do whatever it took to remain together. Sometimes I wonder.. perhaps we were just too young? But then again, if we were to meet again today, and we were each alone and free to re-connect, would it be any different? It’s doubtful. I’m glad to know your life has been full, that you found someone to share your dreams. Me? I’m fine. I found out long ago that being alone was not the same as being lonely. Just don’t ask me that one question. You know the one I mean. Do you still love me? |

Thank you for your tender reply, Eric. Q, thank you, for reading, replying, and understanding. |

(big hugggsssssss) I don't think paper clips can hold anything together, they always seem to lose their grip, just as I would never want to hold love down like a paperweight and have to suffocate! (sad sigh) This is very heartfelt, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton Underneath your clothes, there's an endless story |

quote: Darn! you get inspired by everything! i liked the simple manner in which this was written...kinda of like having the excesses pared away, leaving alone the essentials to sing and make themselves heard |

kaile, thank you for that reply! I was quite surprised to see this one re-surface. LOL, yes, I sometimes find inspiration on my cluttered desk. Noah, I guess I missed the thank you last time, but it's never too late to say thanks. [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (06-03-2003 12:45 PM).] |

you know... I started to say several things and backed off all of them simply because I understood the why and the reasons we feel sometimes the way we do when it makes no sense at all in terms of logic... tender, understanding, and accepting with the touch of truth that still binds... well done... |

Ethel, yes, sometimes they just jump off the desk. thanks for reading Ron, LOL, matters of the heart rarely follow logical thinking patterns. At least, not in my experience. These feeling were from so long ago, even the paper clips forgot to hold onto them. |

Kacy, that is such a real raw write!--one with which many of your readers will most likely identify. Lovin' hugs, Linda |

Linda, thank you for your warm reply. Yes, there was a certin rawness of the heart that came out in this, even though I don't really regret the experience. I was young, I tried for several years to make it work, then gave up...it was that, or give up too much more of myself in order to be "WE." |

sounds like someone has been twisting paperclips ....staring into space then smiling down at the sculpture of memory's whim puts the answered question to rest for awhile very nice Kacy |

Excellent write Kacy~ so full of hard truths. Especially this~ the parchment that stamped us into tidy layers of I do, when neither of us was ever willing to do whatever it took to remain together. Closing my eyes and sighing deeply! Aww, a bowl of cherries if filled with pits that fall by the wayside. |
