“IF I COULD BUT ONCE” by Bill Charles ~~~~ If I could but once touch your gentleness, to hold you close, and know you’re there, my being would warm like a candles flame, and a soul to whisper of one, now not bare… If I could but once touch your delicate lips, ones that are softer than mist of dew, my heart would beat with loves song, and inside would a fire burn anew… If I could but once love you on pillows soft, to know of you warm through the night, my vows to you would only be of true, every morning when dawn brings the light… ~~~~ |
