I saw it all from the beginning From the very start From down in the cracks of society I watched as the children of my generation grew How they sat until pushed to be Something other than themselves To be made to feel imperfect As they are bombarded with images Of beautiful dead people on the Dimly lit room in the soundly square room And as they mistakenly covet the goal Of others only to have it Tossed out into the highway smashed To utter pieces while their friends laughed When they talked for hours about The direct inconsistencies of the world Unfolding in front of them which was Shown to be rotten at the core While they dealt with the heavy Load that has been given underneath The filth and the slime of the universities and high schools I was there when some grasped And fell flat in there attempt To soar farther than the man standing In line in front of them As they dig in their pockets for The money to make themselves happy Only for a little while longer As they strolled down the street To stare directly into the face Of evil and hatred and i watched them shudder But they did not run but stayed However it was not courage That glued them to that spot No, it was the look of pure honesty Of that very specific hatred And i saw the people of my generation Stare and shake their heads Yes, i was there hiding in the walls Standing in the doorways Watching from above to see my generation I saw the blank faces, blanker minds Get painted by t.v. shows and Molded by all the magazines I saw the mindless leading the mindless Once more around The perfectly kept block I saw one of them scream And the reaction of the neighbors They were not accustomed to this Radical behavior in this clean Well-kept uppity neighborhood They better call the riot-control I saw the death of the individual In my generation as we swept together Into one oversized empty brain I saw the blank looks and eyes Of nothing on my friends faces For their minds are full of trash Trash that they are given readily I saw the books passed up And put down And thoughts put on reserve And junk put in front I saw us controlled and put away Without a single fight but to the Back where no one will notice or care For we have given them no reason To care or to gravitate towards us I have seen my generation working out Their meaningless existence Unhappy and disappointed in themselves And their brothers I have seen the society that we will Lead—a society of nothingness Nothing is sacred, nothing is special, And no one is good I have seen us shake hands with Orwell And say “30 years to late but other Than that, good job” We are dissatisfied and we know not why We are lost but we still think We have chosen the right alley We are covered in no dirt No grime and no filth But we pray that we soon are We have grown up with no problems Only our life but that has turned Out to be the greatest of all dilemmas As we roll down the turnpike In our--“0to60’s in seconds” We are still missing it As we take home our healthy paycheck And open the door To our loving wife and two Well-behaved children it haunts us We look at the man next to us And to our left and wonder Does he see what i see We ride on a bus For four hours and When we get off it is still there Waiting as the latch is released We are left to wonder What world have we created for the future generations Yes, I have seen the death of my generation Before any of us turn the ripe old age of 25—and I Myself killed many a man. the only people for me are the mad ones-mad to live, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at once--jack kerouac |

You rant You rave But many a part of this you should save To reform With a form Written with taking of more time Written with a hint of meter and rhyme You rave You rant Shorten this with a series of decant Add line breaks As thoughts makes Transitions that all can see Change from edge of prose to poetry Gloom |

There are a lot of deep and honest thoughts here..... We are living in strange time indeed.... Take Care!!!! Bridgette "Somewhere, somehow, it should be possible to touch someone and never let go again. To hold someone, not for a moment but forever." Unknown |
