To Dream of Honeyed Clover I walked on callused road following a curling thought and I was drenched my breath a torch for I knew where I was going thus far and my faith leaped across the precipice and then caught me firm and growing How tall I seemed so wrapped in the moon and then kneeling into the dirt of meadow shimmering with fragility caught in questioning one small blade of grass and indeed there were enchants a heaven of diaphanous clouds and one of them holding a rainbow so dainty and perfectly colored with no beginning or end only this pure now and still I chased some majesty that called my name and it was filled with words like stars and it dripped sound that found me and pierced my thirst with honeyed clover and spread me out and I let it have its way with me and plant this fertile place with ancient harmony and I thought this is the place where I was born and will die and then I was awake and so caught in this delicious memory that on my hands I held the fragrance of the dark and loamy earth. ---------- May, 2000 |

and I thought this is the place where I was born and will die and then I was awake and so caught in this delicious memory that on my hands I held the fragrance of the dark and loamy earth. The fact taht these words were written 3 years ago just goes to show how timeless your writing truly is. When the morning cries and you don't know why... |

We plod the earth -- Martie dances ahead of us, across a meadow of her own devising. Thanks for letting us watch for a while. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

You manage to take, what I would normally think a cliche' and give them so much depth and meaning--- I just went to topic review to illustrate what I said backed by your words, but yes, the entire poem, does just that. YOU are a beauty queen of poetry Marite. (see? I did that freudian typo again...) just totally left me with that..."Oh..." that's what I feel when someone expresses me inside out so completely I have nothing left to say. just "OH...." you are magick. |

I remember... and the lines that entranced me then... are, for some reason, even better now... better than better... |

Martie, I just came back in from putting my pinwheel back up in my garden as it was blown over from a sudden rain storm yesterday, and I was elated by the scent of damp earth and spring blossoms. When I read your poem.....yes....I was still wrapped in that scent..and will be all day. Thankyou for this. hugs, Chris "Hope" is the thing with feathers- |

Your images nearly knocked me off of my chair. This is poetry, pure and sweet, from the soul. I, myself, am learning so much from the poets here. I will be seeking out your poems as I have much to learn from you. I also want to thank you for commenting on my poem. You are so right about angels never being average. I edited my poem to explain why I used that word "average." It is something between to the two of us(the person I wrote this poem for and me.) I included a sort of preface in the poem now to explain this. I was apprehensive about titling the poem this way, but it does have special meaning for this person. Again, I thank you, and I look forward to savoring more of your verses. -Patricia |

Martie: caught in questioning one small blade of grass to quote one of the finest: "To see the world in a grain of sand And heaven in a wildflower Hold infinity in the palm of your hand And eternity in an hour . . ." William Blake astounding xxoo |

and indeed there were enchants a heaven of diaphanous clouds and one of them holding a rainbow so dainty and perfectly colored with no beginning or end only this pure now *sigh*... it doesn't get any better than this. *S* Unless, of course, it's that last verse. *S* Absolutely wonderful! *S* |

walked on callused road following a curling thought and I was drenched my breath a torch for I knew where I was going thus far and my faith leaped across the precipice and then caught me firm and growing love the way you begin a poem.. and the way you weave the words into such a tapestry of both thoughts and feelings... |
