~* What's Left Of The Flame *~ I wonder when did her shooting star die? Gone are her yesterdays, and she can’t even cry. A burned out old beauty queen, all wrinkled and gray, Is all that she sees in her reflection today. Where did the years of purpose go so fast? How silly was she to think they would last. Her hands clasped in prayer to heavens each night, Consoling a soul so empty, and filled with fright. Is it sorry she feels for what she has lost? Or is all her sorrow caused by the cost? If she had her life to live all over again, Would she look at it now with the same distain? Would she do things differently or still the same, Would she have been a participant in the game? Mistakes were made that she can't undo, She'll make even more before she's through. She feels like a star that fell out of the sky, Down to earth and she doesn't know why. She's had one heck of a mystical flight But she's so very melancholy on this night. Nobody cared that her shooting star died, And when the light went out, was only she who cried. She wishes she had someone that she could blame, As she stomps out the embers of what’s left of the flame. [This message has been edited by Mysteria (06-10-2003 10:28 PM).] |

Happy Birthday ... hey there my friend, fret not over age for that is only a count in little arithmetics count if you must, but then count all the joy you have gained in little sprinklings and large portions and then subtract the sad from the total and I wouldn't be least surprised when you have a count far more than the no. of years you had added up earlier for you know you have deserved it regards sudhir P.S. by the way beautifully penned poem... She feels like a star that fell out of the sky, Down to earth and she doesn't know why. She's had one heck of a mystical flight But she's so very melancholy on this night. And you've told her story so well tears of empathy cloud my eyes. *S* This is beautiful. |

Don't feel like the woman in the poem, Mysteria. You're awesome. Happy Birthday! ~Elizabeth Dreams last for so long, even after you're gone... |

Sharon...youth is a state of mind...and you can't see it in a mirror. Wonderful poem! I hope you had a happy birthday! |

Suthern - You have no idea what that empathy meant to me and I truly mean that. Noah - What can I possibly say to you for all the kindness you show me and others with your comments from the heart, you are such a dear. THank you. Martie - My state of mind is okay it is the darn gravity that is out of whack! |

Skyshine - I am afraid I do feel exactly like that woman in the mirror, and I am trying to snap out of it, but thank you so kindly for your wishes. |

Oh Sharon ... I really loved this piece. A wonderful look into the mind, as the years pass by and we look back onto a lifetime. You've got me pondering this morning, my friend ... and you know I love that. Best wishes and hugs, /Kit |

Some glow from within and inspire others to fire up the sky...Those are the ones who are never spent. A candle in the wind perhaps, but still a beautiful flicker. Have missed you greatly. Sincerely, Reg |
