I lay,
infuriated by the voice
that is relentless in my mind
"shes screaming"
I snap from my own hurricane
of pre sleep heartache
I suck in intrigued breath
and wonder if shes screaming
for the same reasons that I wish to

Force behind each word is magnified thru the black
I see no faces through my blind
just the light in their home
like spotlight on stage
without the make believe

So with her my tears reach cheek
for her, for me
for him.

How is it darkness
makes me switch on my own voices?
her anger fades with the thud of back door
i'm alone again
without the comfort of knowing
my 2 am pain is not unique.

not unique....perhaps that is all too true for so many of us.. not unique, and yet still in our own way very personal and hard to explain..

well done gem...

I always love to see the duality of the soul . . . and no gemma - I think all
of us here are more alike than we give ourselves credit for . . .
Stunning me again

Only in the time of day, does this pain become unique.

Gemma, it seems when we see a glimpse into
someone elses pain, we usually can see some
of our own in it.

Hugs to you, my little friend

If a single tear drops in the emptiness of night, is it ever felt?

The answer is: I felt it just now.

Such voices are familar to the heart.

                Beautifully deep.

This is brilliant gem, could be my favourite, and gem..if it helps? When you're wondering if you're alone thinking these things at 2 am..know that I for one am awake wondering the same things
