A cotton cover sweeps upon my eyes, rolling to blue gray Of pent up tears sent softly soaking as they come this way While all the earth drinks deeply in a thirst to bloom again The skies devise delivery of rains to quench the hearts of men A song of silence lingers in the sweet of showers sent Of peaceful strings and chimed moist rings in tune a grand event While choirs of the winged and wind roll on to peaks in swell The skies revise of wetted eyes another seasons spell A lightened high sets gently calmed above the sated souls Of precious rains prelude to warmth and color as it wholes While washing off the dinged and sloth of winter in a blink A cotton cover sweeps in rain and sings of springs sweet drink Copyright Kkh 4/20/03 |
