The Second Floor

There were times of doldrums silent bore
And times that shook me to the core
Times that sailed a pleasant sea
Times of love those lovers see.

Where Eden was a gardens place
And Eve a rib I did embrace
Where simple was a mantle shawl
That covered me in drapes of fall.

But change extended me its hand
And raised me up upon the land
Grew me to a stance of bloom
And then to wilt into the gloom

And here I stand the edge of this
Waiting for the black abyss
Questioning the wisdoms core
Looking toward the second floor

The building feels one story dwell
The rest seems but a wishing well.

(sigh) In times like these, we must expand upon these foundations without selling our souls and invite all the spirits in! (big hugggsssssss) Let He be your doorman, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

And that's the most wonderful thing about creating. It will always be a mystery.

Wish well, dear sonneteer, and you shall add more stories to your building. If you can dream it, you can manifest it--in one form or another!--be it reality or fantasy. There was a lot of meat to stew over in this poem but I enjoyed how you sweetened it with potatoes!

Yes, Seymour, you have brought us
thoughts to ponder in this one
this morning. But, that's a good
thing, too.

Have a very nice day, Mr. T.

Oh my, Sy...after Noah's and Linda's replies all I want to add is:

This is heart touching and real. Love your work!

Hugs and if you celebrate it, happy holiday...Pat

======================

you cover us in drapes of rhyme
and its quite simply divine.

and those will be the coolest line I will read all day.

*throwing winkies in your wishing well*

You're the best I've ever felt ...
it's so wrong not to be with you.
It's getting harder to stay away,
it stops my heart just to be with you.

"Kerplunk"...

there's my penny...
to keep my wishes afloat...
knowing I kept this, and will get to see
another reading today...

makes me doubly pleased...

Good morning Sy...
back to the top to hail the sky!
