At night, the wagons roll
across the dusted plains
of my heart, of my soul.
Sojourners, pioneers together.
We stake our claim to
the undiscovered territories,
to the pursuit of
our heart's homestead.
Drifters we...drifting slowly
towards the expanded prairies,
the high midnight of our ecstasy.
How we explore the regions
undiscovered, the emotions
undisplayed before. Always looking
towards the exciting and the new.
And so, the wagons roll on
across the dusted plains
searching for a destination,
for a home that was denied us
for such a very long time.

Ivy,  I am a sucker for pioneer poetry...
And this is an excellent example of what I
like.  I see the wagons lurching, the
lanterns swaying...

This is a very well-done metaphor, Ive Rose. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Ivy Rose - I see a sense of self in this writing. In between the words I read, but of course I could be way off base.
