Maggie's Midnight Tea Maggie could never be his cliché Female protocols were not her way Reinventing herself most every day Always voicing what she had to say Lone ritual to sip her midnight tea And contrast how her life would be To be matriarch of his sweet family And the price she’d paid to be free Maggie put her teacup on the shelf And again she thought about herself Within that one moment she recognize That it was her failure to compromise With a neglect to find an in-between A spectrum of colors she’d never seen [This message has been edited by Patricia (06-08-2003 09:43 PM).] |

Oooh! I really like this, it rhymes a lot but it flows very well. I wouldn't mind reading more of your stuff. |

How many ways I read this... and now I'll have Rod Stewart's voice in my ears all the rest of this day! |

I am really enjoying your poetry, Patricia. Warm hugs, Linda P.S. Love your name! It is the same as my Mom's and it is the middle name of my sister! |
