Oh bright of star in heaven high within the black of darkened fold. Where be thy gleam in lusting sigh once ‘pon the green of glinting gold. As eons flow the crisp in swirl of ages gone and yet to be. And comets fall in earthward hurl into the blue of raging sea. Mayhaps the glow of fullest moon within the grasp of autumn air. Now bathing earth in soaring swoon has masked the sight of starry stare. Steadfast ye stand into the eve of blackened floor to willing eyes. While far below the tillers leave till ‘gain the sun is past noon high. With lids apart your watching gaze eternal there born of the age. A brilliance in a starlit blaze as endless war and battle rage. For though I’ll rest the earthen grave blind to the light your birth has brought. Countless will live and of you rave in heaven’s search of what is wrought. |

OK Barry, I read this countless times trying to get the full meaning. I think you speak of Him and the ones who do not know Him. Please let me know if I am wrong about this. This is what I took from this piece. I am trying to become more analytical in my reading which I believe will help me to become a better writer. Heck, just simply reading the flow of your rhyme gives me a challenge for to strive. You are awesome! Patricia |

Pat, thanx bunches...in fact....to all... thanx bunches... This is of a star.. one which always sits in the heavens, watching over us each night throughout all of earth's time..and even into the infinity of time itself.... Yes, it is difficult to sometimes discern what a poet writes... I got the inspire from a sonnet written by John Keats which was found on blank paper within a book of W. Shakespeare's poems. The first line goes... "Bright star! Would I were stedfast as thou art" This is what I derived my thoughts from. |

*sigh* you capture the magic of the stars like no other....Stars hold such importance to me...I feel in such a state of awe every time I gaze upon them...I am glad Keats inspired your talent to flow with the wonder of the stars...Magnificent writing, Barry... |
