Smell the scent, see the soft subtle clours of flowers, the emerald green of the lawn, watered by soft rain showers. The English country garden changes season by season, through snow and ice to warm summer sun. Foxgloves filled with due, children making daisychains, having lots of fun. Golden crocuses and fire red tulips, dark velvet blue of lobelia. Pastel shades of carnations, rosy red apples festooned on the tree. Blackbird sings from a nearby fence, sparrows squabble on the roof tops, sit in the sunshine, eat cakes and sip fresh cups of tea. Safrron and vermillion fallen leaves, signal autumns beginings, fallen apples under the tree, feasted on by thrushes and fieldfares. Faint ineffable scent of frost, hangs heavy through the air, the robin fluffed up feathers against the cold winter, for him does anybody care ? |
