On the world’s wide shore
I stand alone among starlit skies
as silence beds softly on the dew
of eve. Flickering light of the
firefly dances the silhouette of
barked sentinels rustling to
the slightest breath of wind.

Perched precariously on
leafy lofts, crickets play the
violin in chirpsody as the
flute of hoot echoes in
the distance.

Falling swiftly... reddish glow,
the heated meteor streaks earthbound
upon a ray of crescent moon.

Wish I may, wish I might...
wish upon one star this night.
Dance the ball in Belle regale.
Wear the slipper...dainty...well...

In awe...I stand...as the gleam
of twinkle basks upon a tear
falling silently upon a trail
of stubbled cheek...

Wish I may...on this night...

Yup...you are a tender guy. Well written for sure. Excellent.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
