This hollow place I have been keeping empty Scooped clean of everything right to the rind A cask or basket fashioned to collect me Suddenly too full, an overflow resigned But sometimes I can cup the waters gently Allowing just enough a planned escape Though deluge comes to fill the void intently Too full again, surprise concealed it’s drape This hollow place so warm and soft as kidskin What now remains the heart once new and sure To carry all the love that then could fit in Seems over filled by something far more pure This hollow place seems sometimes only paper Although a feeling of your hands cupped round And I am so amazed when floods to vapor Too full of you, a sea inside I’ve found Copyright Kkh 6/4/03 |
